Luis:
Comparing the Cane Creek to the Fox is a bit difficult because they are so completely different. However I must point out that all of these conclusions have been obtained from testing just a few samples of each shock (4 of each).
• The fox compression damping is minimal because it relies on the spring too much during the compression; therefore you cannot control the speed at which the suspension compresses.
• The rebound on the Fox works better than the compression, however the adjustment range is too broad (from full soft to full stiff) you can set up the bike way to slow or way to fast, and the usable range is very limited, it makes fine tuning very difficult.
• When you adjust the low speed or high speed compression or the rebound, it somehow changes the other adjustments; they are not truly independent of each other.
• The fox’s curves are not very smooth and it is slightly affected by heat, this may be due to the internal tolerances of the mass production shocks.
