[imgr]http://www.dirty-pages.net/nieuws/image ... ll4x00.jpg[/imgr]Het 4-cross parcours in Fort William is met een lengte van 240 meter en een gemiddelde tijd van 25 seconden voor een run vrij kort en snel te noemen. Het bevat wel alle elementen die de sport zo spectaculair maken: Tables, doubles, step downs, drop downs en ook een dubbele double achter elkaar. Deze laatste noemen de Schotten Lumpy Bumpy en zorgde tijdens de wedstrijden voor veel actie. Ondanks al deze hindernissen viel de beslissing van de wedstrijd vaak al in de eerste bocht. De rijders komen hier met hoge snelheid aan en moeten dan een erg krappe bocht nemen, wie hier als eerste uitkomt maakt veel kans om bij de eerste twee te zitten.

Snelste bij de kwalificatie voor de heren was Michal Prokop gevolgd op een halve seconde door Kamil Tatarkovic. De derde kwalificatietijd was voor Cedric Gracia. Beste Nederlander was Jurg Meijer op de elfde plek. Bij de dames was het Jill Kintner die de beste tijd neerzette en Anneke Beerten werd tweede. Dit beloofden spannende wedstrijden te worden.

Joost Wichman had als eerste Nederlander aan de start een goede run en kwam als eerste over de finish. De ronde daarna was Bas de Bever aan de beurt maar helaas zat hij niet bij de eerste twee. Daniel Prijkel had in zijn heat niet zoÂ’n snelle start en lag derde. Voor de laatste bocht wist hij op de tweede plek te komen en volgde Jared Graves. Maar met de finish in zicht schoof zijn achterwiel weg en kwam hij ten val, over en uit.
Jurg Meijer had al evenmin veel geluk, hij crashte met twee anderen in de eerste bocht. Daarna was het snel zijn fiets zoeken maar het was al te laat om bij de eerste twee te zitten.
In de tweede heat voor Joost Wichman werd hij klem gereden waardoor ook hij strandde en niet verder kwam dan de 1/8e finale.
In de finale was Michael Prokop de concurrentie te snel af met zijn strakke lijnen. Brian Lopes moest ook zijn meerdere erkennen in Prokop en Chris Kovarik werd verrassend derde. De vierde plek was er voor de Fransman Mickael Deldycke.

Anneke Beerten had een goede eerste heat en mocht door naar de halve finale. Direct na de start wou ze de eerste bocht krap binnendoor nemen alleen had ze teveel snelheid. Hierdoor moest ze vol in de remmen om niet op haar tegenstanders in te rijden en nam ze uiteindelijk de bocht te krap en kwam ze aan de verkeerde kant van de parcoursvlag uit. Pech voor Anneke maar er zat nog wel een kleine finale voor haar in. Hierna werdt ze overall zesde.

In de dames finale werd het de favoriet Jill Kintner nog lastig gemaakt door de Tsjechische Jana Horakova. Pas op de finishlijn was Kintner zeker van haar overwinning, maar ze had er hard voor moeten strijden dit keer. De derde plek was voor Tara Llanes en vierde werdt Katrina Miller.

One month 5 big wins,

Author factory rider Michal Prokop from the Czech Republic needed just one month to collect five big wins! World Champion, World Cup Winner, European Champion, National Champion and Czech 4X Cup winner dominated all the biggest fourcross events, bringing the crowds amazing battles with his long time rival Brian Lopes and many other fast 4X and BMX riders. 


After the horrible crash leading to the worst injury of his career at the World Championships in Livigno and the resulting successful recovery, Michal Prokop started his off season for the very first time with pretty serious and hard training on track bicycle. But you know Michal, this young man is always looking for new goals. It was not just a training, four months were enough to be nominated into the Czech national team and bring Cane Creek´s fantastic new wheels Aros 58 Track for the 2006 Track World Championships in France! 


Over six thousands spectators had the first chance to see Michal Prokop in action after his injury at the SEAT 4X Masters, the first ever international fourcross race in Prague, capitol of the Czech Republic. Eighty top riders from 12 nations, including current world champion Brian Lopes, freeriding star Kyle Strait and world cup winners Leive-Ove Nordmark and Guido Tschugg accepted Prokop´ s invitation to this celebration of the sport of fourcross running on a brand new track built according to the plan of Mr. Holeshot as many call Michal. Michal won the qualification and all his heats which brought him into the great final against Marosi, Tatarkovic and Lopes. Final round of SEAT 4X Masters was just pure essence of fourcross racing with Prokop and Lopes drag racing on the 70 metres long first straight. Unique combination of precise start reaction, unbeatable strength in his legs and technical skills, that´s what you would need to beat Michal Prokop on his home course named Polis XIII. None were faster on the 1st of May 2006, Prokop clearly won the SEAT 4X Masters.

Five days left and Prokop stays on the top of podium again. UCI 4X World Cup 2006 started in Vigo, Spain and it's the same simple game as it was in 2005. Prokop won the qualification, all his heats and then also the final.  

One week later, another country, totally different bike. No matter what kind of bike he is riding, consistency could be his nick name… Prokop is taking another gold, this time at the 3rd round of European BMX Championships in Germany! 

May 21st, Czech 4X Cup, round one. Not just a national level race but the base where many of the World's top fourcross riders of the UCI number one ranked nation of the Czech Republic are coming from. Prokop, Marosi, Tamme, Tatarkovic, Slavik and many other not yet well known 4X dogs you can see at Czech 4X Cup. To get into the final in Elite category is just a dream for most of 4X riders. Note that one position on the gate is almost booked. Every single race of the Czech 4X Cup that Michal Prokop attended he also won. Same in Prerov. Fourth gold in three weeks! 


Let's move to Scotland. UCI 4X World Cup continues in Fort William. Friday's qualification belongs to the Czechs. Again. Prokop is first, Tatarkovic second, Tamme nineth. Saturday´s race is running under Prokop´s simple scenario. Five rounds, five wins. From start to the finish line. 

If healthy, Michal Prokop never stops racing. This "machine like guy" takes about 50 race results every year and most of them are medal positions. The World's best gravity riders will try to catch him again at the third stop of UCI World Cup in Willingen, Germany. Stay tuned.
