Hiya

I am going to be in the Netherlands this summer, May to June. And am looking for some riding info. I am heading to Winterberg for some downhill but know nothing about their park. If anyone has info on which trails to hit and which suck I would really appreciate it. Also I will have a lot of time to kill and want to know if there is any fun riding around Kampen. Thanks for any information.

Hey,

I don't know what level of riding you are at, but winterberg is one of the easier tracks in Germany( their downhill anyway).

You have the Dh track and a north shore track right next to it.
You also have a Free cross and a Six cross and then you have Fun ride section with big wallrides and jump boxes and stuff...

If you want more challenging Dh tracks you should try Todtnau or certainly Bad wildbad 8)

grtz

I am no pro rider and dont do huge gaps but the shore riding sounds good. I ride at whistler when ever possible so anything like that would be great. lots of jumps and speed. Thanks again for al the help

Don't expect something like Whistler when you're heading fot Bikepark Winterberg. Riding there is great fun, but don't expect a park like Whistler (I haven't been there - yet - but i've seen a lot of pictures of the park and it looks great!!). The runs will be shorter and the tracks less challenging (I think)

Here some Winterberg pictures (Winterberg's site is www.bikepark-winterberg.de GERMAN LANGUAGE ALERT!)

If you look for something more in the line of wistler, then the bikeparks and DH tracks in France are more suited to you're riding style, althow you will surely like what germany has to offer on tracks and parks.

for fun things around Kampen, I or other people could lead you around in the forest under the village Hattem (12mile from Kampen), it is mostly XC orientated, but there are a few places where one could jump around for fun.
shoot me again, I ain't dead yet

Sounds like fun. Is there any good Urban riding in Kampen? Also is there anywhere I can rent/borrow a bike. I won't have a lot of time to ride so I didn't want to bring my bike over. Thanks again for all of the info.

In Winterberg you can rent a bike for the riding there.

I don't know anything about a place where you can rent a bike in Kampen (or somewhere else in The Netherlands).

I don't know Kampen, but I've been in Zwolle once to do some urban riding with a couple of Dirty-Pages members and it was fun!
