Wade what's with the Booty Suit?

Over the holiday period I have not been monitoring my diet as well as a true athlete would and my belly is now bigger than my butt. So I asked QAS (Queensland Academy of Sport) to look into helping my situation. They came up with a full one piece sweat suit of Tear resistant material so that it will hide my belly and also help with my overall track speed, which they wanted to test last weekend.

Well usually as you guys know try to stay out of the bla bal bal but this time I will make a exception. All I have to say is, I really feel sorry for the guy and the way he looks, at least he should try to get a decent helmet to make up for the rest of it but he probably make $75 a month to use it so...But I guess Bootsy was never about style and will definitely never be remember for that. Booty suits are for guy's on road bikes, I have seen a few of these guy's cooling down at the BMX races on the road bikes. My suggestion is they keep right on pedalling past the BMX track and hit up the velodrome. BMX has roots, let's not get away from that.. As for Bootes riding in a suit Im pretty sure it won't matter what suit he is in he'll still be looking at Danny C's back.. Peace, Greg Hill

Soort van evolutie... In 1998 waren er in Schwedt a/d Oder (EK) al Portugezen die in strakke wielrenbroeken en -shirts kwamen. Bijna 10 jaar later maakt men het shirt en de broek aan elkaar en wordt het zo mogelijk nog enger. Peaty zou het geloof ik faggots noemen.

Johan – Just as important to present BMX in a exciting format, is it to have the riders looking like BMX racers. We need to make the sport appealing, so it will not be cool to have big guys riding small bikes in skin suits. Therefore, we’re looking into regulating this for the future. You must have a visor on your helmet, no aerodynamic Lance Armstrong time trial helmet, no fins on your bike. It needs to be real BMX/MX gear. I don’t know what to do with those silver roadie shoes though…..Hopefully the manufacturers can come up with some good looking clip shoes still with the same performance. As far as sponsors/logos on the gear, this is something being finalized within the next month or so. We have already given our recommendation to IOC. It will be limited for sure, but it is the same for any other sport in the Olympics.

Official Comment on the Skin Suit

Ray Stanley, UCI BMX Commissaire Training Co-ordinator from Australia.

“Since Wade Bootes wore the skinsuit there has been a lot of discussion.

The ‘Booty Suit’ has generated a great deal of debate with BMX technical commission with a view to clarify what is now seen to be the other cycling disciplines on a new emerging Olympic sport.

In the rule book it basically deals with the rider jersey and pants in terms of specifying the types of material and the length of sleeves and the fit at the ankles.
t it does not specify that it can not be a one piece construction.”

The rule book states that the pants must be of a tear-resistant material and be tight fitting at the ankles. The jersey just needed to have a long sleeve to the wrist. There has been discussion about whether or not they should introduce a loose fitting jersey as a means of combating the skin tight cycling style outfit.

Now the UCI will have to specify what limits are required if such a term as loose-fitting was to be applied to the description.
