In a BIG move for a couple of awesome BMX Racing efforts, Robert De Wilde and the Dutch National Team signed with Redline to exclusively run Redline frames. BMX Pro, De Wilde, who has long been with Staats, took the plunge with a smile on his face at a special News Conference at Interbike, the big bike show in Las Vegas.
The 'superstructure' for the deal is no stranger to Dutch national racing as Redline was recently purchased by The Accell Group, a Dutch company famous for making a diverse mix of bike, most notably Batavus, a well known bike line in Europe.
The Dutch National Team is headed up by BMX/MTB legend, Bas De Bever, who has worked with the leadership at Batavus before in his mountain biking career.
Look for a nation wide, or maybe Euro Wide "Redline Cup style" event similar to what the ABA does with it's "across the U.S." Redline Cup event every Fall to take place with the new hookup, making for a fin time for Dutch/Euro riders, with big racing on the line.
Big Bob is already on his Redline, powering it around the track at the NBL's recent Christmas Classic. Look for the rest of the team to follow suit soon.
