The fork is called the RC40XCFR and right off it looks different to Pace"s previous forks - it looks a lot more purposeful, less fragile and very stealthy. Featuring beefy 32mm stanchions and, get this, open oil bath damping, it"s as different inside as out.
Travel is 100-130mm via a U-turn style adjuster dubbed the "Travel Express", so it"s infinitely adjustable like Rockshox U-Turn and Manitou"s Rapid Travel Wind Down system. The crown is cold forged and then CNC"d, the production stanchions will be slightly lighter in colour, but still anodised aluminium. The carbon lowers feature a much more streamlined treatment of Pace"s carbon lower and brace assembly.
There are no grease ports (told you these forks are different) because Pace are now using new wipers with an oil impregnated foam washer below - and the open oil bath in the lowers should help keep them well lubed.
The dropouts are magnesium and the fork will be disc only
Up at the top of the (stage left) stanchion is a V-shaped rebound adjuster. Turn it to adjust the rebound. Simple...
...but, if you tap the knob down with your palm, you"ll engage the "Launch control" - which initially works like Marzocchis ECC lock-down knob - so the fork will now compress, but not rebound, leaving around 40mm of stiff travel at the end of the stroke.
However, this is where it gets clever. If you hit a bump, the Launch Control automatically disengages, leaving you with a fully functioning fork. You don"t need to touch the knob to switch it off, it"s triggered by the G-force from the bump and that bump threshold is adjustable with a small allen key.
So, you"re thinking - "Hmm, a new, beefier fork from Pace, 4-5in travel, sturdy looking and with clever internals..."
"...must be heavy" - Target weight is 3.9lb
"...hmm... must be expensive then..." - Retail price is likely to be a very Fox-like £439
"Won"t be out for ages then..." - Should be out in March.

en de travel adjust is simpel: in or out
